Julien Grenet is Director of Research at the CNRS, Associate Professor at the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Policy. He co-directs the Educational Policies and Social Mobility Chair, created in 2020 as part of a partnership between PSE, DEPP and the Ardian Foundation.
 He is an alumnus of the École normale supérieure, holds a PhD in economics from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) and a habilitation to direct research (HDR) from the Université Paris-Saclay.
 A specialist in the economics of education, his work focuses on educational inequalities, returns to education, school choice policies and the use of matching algorithms to regulate enrolment in secondary and higher education.
